Top 5 Smartphones

Posted on 12 July 2010

Cell phones have become a necessity now, and almost everyone is seen to be sporting a phone that complements their lifestyle. For the year 2010, there are five top notch phones that screams style, luxury, elegance, connectivity, and pure intelligence! Here is a review of five of the top cell phones.

1). Apple iPhone

The Apple iPhone is considered to be on the top level, regardless of some of the flaws that has been associated with it. Getting millions of users every week, the Apple iPhone 4G has thousands of apps, and kicks off at the price of $299. The main problems with this phone was the call quality and the signal reception, which people had associated with the design of a metal plate on the side of the phone. When the phone is tilted, the signal is lost. However, despite this, it still ranges as the compact, one in all phone that ensures connectivity to the internet and to people!

2).HTC Droid Incredible

The HTC Droid Incredible is Verizon’s 3G smart phone that boasts amazing speed and connectivity. Verizon joined hands with Google and ventured to have Google’s Android OS into their latest phone set, that is the HTC Droid. It has a 8-megapixel camera with 8GB internal memory. A great phone for music and picture lovers. For connectivity there is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Edge, 3G. Simply everything, just at the starting price of $199 – $599.

The device is not as crème as that of Apple iPhone, but it is said to be the rival party to give users a more refined touch of speed and connectivity, which somehow the Apple iPhone failed to do so in pursue of posh designs and multimedia enhancements.

3).HTC Evo 4G

This time Sprint comes up with its HTC Evo 4G and is also a top Android device. As compared to HTC Verizon’s 3G, this one is 4G, the next generation of mobile internet. However, since the 4g is still too new for telecom companies to keep up with, it could be a little set back. The physical features is the same like that of the HTC Verizon, with only the difference of an extra large 4.3 inch touch screen and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.Since 4G will take some time to get around globally, the phone has not really hit hard with the market. Other than that, the performance is superb and it also can be availed at the starting price of $199.

4).Samsung Rogue SCH-U960

Finally Samsung has launched it’s version of a smartphone, with the name of Samsung Rogue, a 3.5mm headset, a flexible keyboard and a 3 megapixel camera, EV-DO Rev.A, GPS and a HTML browser with Flash lite. All in all a good package that only lacks quality in video streaming. Partnered with Verizon, this touch screen phone comes along with data plan prices. That is $99.99/month for the initial plan.

5).RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700

With Blackberry loosing its appeal under the pressure of Apple and Android, it still manages to come up with the latest RIM Blackberry 9700. Again this is a 3G smartphone that claims to be much more improvised than its predecessor. Starting at a price of $149 this smartphone offers Wi-Fi with UMA support, bluetooth and GPS. It has its own Blackberry OS 5.0 and offers fast processing speed. The only drawback is its poor browser and small display. But those who have been used to having the Blackberry wouldn’t be considering this as a problem.

  1. I just ditched my Incite for your Tilt 2 (AT&T) All I can say is WOW this is a better phone! I see lots of messages here regarding the TP2, is this a different phone completely, or is it just the Verizon version of the same phone with slightly different interface? Was there a Tilt 1? I am trying to get accessories and want to make sure I don’t buy the wrong stuff.
