Google’s New Colorful Feature

Posted on 13 June 2010

Google threw a new feature of colorful background options on its homepage for its visitors, last Thursday.

The G-Team observed the experiment for 24 hours, and when they noticed that people aren’t much pleased of the new look, they pulled back the feature. Google did the experiment to gain people’s attention but it was a failure. Previously, Google has made such attempts to grab more attention but it didn’t worked out much.

The reason that Google’s new feature didn’t worked was might be its resemblance with the known search engine ‘Bing’ of Microsoft. But late

after the experiment, Google Search VP Marissa Mayer claimed that it was a bug that caused a problem in appearance of the new feature. According to her, the new option didn’t appear completely to all users. It was supposed that background option should appear with a link on the homepage, but due to the problem many users thought that Google has permanently changed its look.

Anyhow, users are now used to the simple white homepage of Google which is back to its position. Google’s may plug in some other features in future regarding its appearance but the truth is users like Google more with its simple white background appearance.
