After the success of the original LG Cookie, LG Cookie Fresh GS290 has entered the newly-formed Cookie family to continue the chain.
The Cookie Fresh has some of the newer features found on the Cookie Plus, but lacks others that were initially found on the original. In a nut shell, the 3MP camera that was present on the first Cookie has been replaced with a weaker 2MP one. The phone lacks 3G, but supports a 3.5mm jack. But it could be a good option for those who enjoy listening to music, while on the move, and want to pay as little as possible.
The LG Cookie Fresh GS290 is the ultimate, affordable touchscreen phone. Although is does not have a breathtaking appearance, but it’s not bad either. The phone has smooth curves, making it easy to hold in the hand.
The screen, which measures around 3 inches has a resolution of 240×400 pixels. However, it does have a lot of pixelization, making its display quality just satisfactory. Together with the 3.5mm, the Cookie Fresh also has a standard microUSB port for PC connection and charging.
Overall, the LG Cookie Fresh GS290 is exactly how a touchscreen phone in this price range should be, not very attractive, but still good enough to look at, hold and use.
Interface and Functionality
The phone supports three home screen pages. One for widgets, next one for favorite contacts, and the last one for Live Square. However, like all other LG phones with this interface, the LG Cookie Fresh GS290 does suffer from some lag.
The 2-megapixel camera offers many different options, such as white balance, night mode, effects, timer and exposure. You can also record video in QVGA resolution.
The LG Cookie Fresh GS290 is going to be a nice and decent, affordable touchscreen phone.
