Dell To Launch Two New Mobile Phones

Posted on 24 April 2010

After becoming one of the largest computer manufacturer, Dell has now decided to enter the mobile phone market, with the announcement of two new mobile phones known as the Thunder and the Lightning.

Both the phones are expected to be top smartphones but no solid information has yet been disclosed about any of them.

It is being said that Dell Lightning will run on Microsoft’s Window 7 mobile operating system, whereas the Dell Thunder is going to be a Google Android phone.

The Thunder phone will come with a 4.1 inch OLED screen, with advanced support for social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Moreover, the new phone will incorporate a new interface which has been developed especially by Dell, thus extending the capabilities of the Google Android Operating system. However, it seems that the new interface has copied some features from the HTC’s Sense.

Some of the other important features of the Dell Thunder include Adobe Flash 10.1 and an 8 megapixel camera. The phone will also allow American users to use a built in application to integrate the video service Hulu.

The Dell Lightning is quite similar to the Thunder except for the fact that it will also include a slide-out keyboard. It also has a1ghz Snapdragon processor, but the camera is of only 5 megapixels.

One of the biggest advantage of the Lightning phone is that it will also feature Flash which has not been included in the earlier releases of the Windows operating system.
