Google Nexus One Expected On January 5

Posted on 02 January 2010

It is being said that Google’s Nexus One will be coming to us on January 5. It is expected that Google will launch its new phone at the Android press gathering on January 5.

Manufactured by HTC for Google, Nexus One is most probably a high-end smartphone that is expected to compete with Apple’s iPhone and the Motorola Droid.

However, the monthly plans for the Android phone are something to look out for.
According to rumors, Nexus One will be priced at $179.99, with a two-year contract with T-Mobile. However, the phone will cost $529.99 without the contract.

The monthly plan of T-Mobile’s is of almost $80, which includes 500 minutes of talk time, unlimited text messages and Internet connection. Nevertheless, we all expect Google to offer more than this monthly $80 plan.

The question remains whether Google will offer a free ad-supported calling plan or not. It is possible that Google may offer an exclusive data plan integrating Google Voice and Gizmo 5, the newly acquired VoIP service.

Google’s entry into the smartphone market has created hype all over. Let’s see whether the anticipation is worth it or not.
