Some Tips For Buying a Mini Netbook Laptop

Posted on 18 September 2009

The main factors, which you will always consider when buying a netbook laptop will generally be, the PC configuration, the price and the brand.

As the mobile computer becomes more famous, there are a lot of famous brands producing branded laptops with variable features. Although it can be easy to buy a netbook from a famous brand, but a famous brand laptop would always be pricey for some one who changes the machine so often. Thus, it is better to order some OEM netbook laptop, which also has amazing configuration.

Always go for a laptop, which you want, having the kind of requirements you need. If you want the netbook just for web surfing, word-processing, chatting together with some other simple tasks, you may order one with general configuration.

But if you have some other, higher demands, such as 3D pictures or running a Vista system, you may have to buy one having high configurations.

Here are some tips for these configurations:

1. CPU: The Processor of the Laptop.

There are three main brands in the market, Intel, AMD and VIA. Intel and AMD are both USA based companies. But Intel has a larger bigger market share as compared to others, due to its better performance and low power consumption. If you want the netbook for personal use, the Intel CPU is highly recommended.

2. Screen

One of the most expensive components of a laptop is its LCD. The most common size available in the market is 14.1 inch. If you want a handy one, you can go for some mini portable netbook, with 10.2", 12.1", or 13.3" LCD. If you want to use it in the office, you can order a bigger screen, such as 14.1", 15.4"

3. RAM: Random Access Memory

RAM is used to store the information in the computer related to programs that are running on the computer. Presently, DDR is the most popular in the market. Most of the times, 256MB will work fine for the Windows XP operating system. In case of a netbook, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB is available now.

4. Hard-Drive Capacity

Most of the netbooks have a Hard-Drive capacity of over 10 GB. Although memory of 20 and 30GB are also becoming common to store your everyday files, a 4GB should be enough for most users. However, if you want to store a lot of music and video content, you may have to choose some with larger space.

5. Operating system for preassemble

Most users are familiar with the Windows XP system, as it is simple and easy for use and has good compatibility. But Visit system offers enhanced security and demands higher configurations of the netbook. If you don’t have any particular need, then a Windows XP will work fine for you.

Other factors, such as the weight, color, CD-ROM and the extendibility should also be considered when deciding upon which one to go for.

Basically, you should et a netbook that fulfills your needs, and which you like the most, irrespective of other things.

  1. To me, I usually pay more attention to the CPU. If I want a performance type, I will choose duo core, and if want energy saver, I will choose intel Atom CPU.
