How to Save Power and Cooling

Posted on 04 August 2009

Replacing a CRT monitor with an LCD is a pretty much easy option to save power, preserve space, produce less heat and, best of all, enjoy a high-quality display. One of my personal peeves is mean-spirited tightwad officers who use to keep their old dim blurry monitors in usage for long times. This is not good for your eyes, so never be cheap on the wrong things. A 19-inch CRT monitor requires about 100 to 200 watts during working, and about 30-watts when asleep. A 19-inch TFT is not just vivid and crisp and fine-looking, latest ones normally need 55 watts under load, & 1 to 5 watts when in sleep mode.
