Last month we did a review of top 5 free Linux games. We had a lot of our readers complaining that their favorite game was not included. That review was indeed biased toward what we liked in the vast variety of free games available for Linux. Games like music, are a matter of personal taste. It is too subjective a matter to be decided. That is why hundreds and thousands of games are produced each year and only few reach the masses. Very much like music albums. well, enough of the analogy shit. let\s get straight to business. We have reviewed some of the hottest Action Games available for linux. We had following criteria for the inclusion in list
- Games should be Free (better open source)
- Games should be able to run on Linux without additional software. (wine etc..)
- Game should be Action Based.
Now Enjoy the list and let us know what do you think about it

Alien Arena 2008 is a freeware online deathmatch game with fast and furious action for Windows and Linux! The game runs on the CRX engine, and features modern effects such as real-time lighting and shadows, shaders, light bloom, reflective surfaces and much more, while still being able to run on even modest systems.
The game includes a built in, as well as external server browser and chat client. Players can look up their stats online, chat with other players, and become part of a growing community.
The Alien Arena experience is now a finely tuned, highly polished body of work. via
Astromenace is a vertical scrolling shooter of the likes of the classic shot ‘em up like Xenon2 Megablaster. The concept behind the game is fairly simple and all focused on piloting a space ship and fighting swarms of alien invaders.
